Answers to the questions we get most often.
Plumm starts from a classic estimate (day 14 of a 28-day cycle). The more you log cycles and signs (mucus, pain, libido), the more accurate the prediction becomes: it's an adaptive algorithm that learns from your body. After 3 complete cycles, we align with your true average.
Starting from 3 days late, Plumm shows a card 'Your period is X days late'. You can confirm 'Yes today' to record the new cycle, or let it slide. If you're +14 days late, take a pregnancy test or see a gynecologist.
Roo is your cycle companion. She follows you day after day, changes expression based on your logged mood, comforts you during painful periods, congratulates you when you take your pill. She's the face of Plumm, so your cycle tracking is never just cold data.
By default, yes. Your data (cycles, symptoms, contraception, first name) is stored only on your phone. It only transits if YOU enable cloud backup (optional, encrypted in transit and at rest). As long as you enable nothing, nothing leaves your device and NEW GAME has no access to your data.
Profile > bottom of the screen > 'Reset app'. A confirmation will ask if you're sure (irreversible action). All your local data will be erased, the app returns to its initial state. Since your cycle data is local by default, no copy exists anywhere else, unless you enabled cloud backup, which you can delete in one tap from Profile > Cloud backup.
Thanks to cloud backup, which is optional. You turn it on from Profile > Cloud backup with your email address: you receive a 6-digit code, and your data is backed up. On your new phone, you install Plumm, enter the same address, receive a new code, and you get everything back.
Turn it on before you switch: it's off by default, and without it your history stays on the old device. In all honesty: this copy is readable by our servers (encrypted in transit and at rest, but not end-to-end). That's what lets us restore it for you.
Profile > My cycle / My pregnancy > 'Contraception'. You can add, remove, or change in a few taps. Plumm automatically adapts reminders (for example: if you switch from pill to IUD, pill reminders are disabled without you having to think about it).
NO. Plumm is a cycle tracking tool, not a contraceptive method. Even with the best algorithms, predicting ovulation 100% is impossible (natural body variability, stress, travel). To prevent pregnancy, use a real medically-validated contraceptive method (condom, pill, IUD, etc.).
Profile > 'Reminders' section. You can independently enable/disable: pill, period, ovulation, daily mood. If a notification doesn't arrive despite the toggle being ON, check notification permissions in your phone's Settings.
Profile > Help & contact > « Got an issue, a question? »: you message the team right inside the app, without leaving Plumm. We read every message. We're small, we take our time. Reply within 48h on average.
